Girls Glory
Reaching Hand recognizes the need for making government schools healthy and hygienic by providing adequate sanitation facilities to the students especially girls and hence the name ‘GIRLS GLORY’. This Program is designed to provide extensive awareness on use of Water, Sanitation and Hygiene (WASH) for underprivileged adolescent girls in Higher Primary Government Schools in and around Bengaluru. We at Reaching Hand are focused on to spread the message of cleanliness, change the attitude towards puberty, and menstrual health, and empower girl child under Girls Glory Program. This is aligned to the Sustainable Development Goals (SDG 6) of the United Nations proposal put forward in the 2015 assembly to uplift the underprivileged across the globe especially with regard to access to safe drinking water, sanitation, and sound management of freshwater that are essential to human health and prosperity. This program is also aligned to SDG 5 with regard to gender equality where we provide the girl children with equal opportunities to thrive by bringing about continuity of education, especially during the menstrual period through appropriate health education and good toilet facilities.
