My name is Anikethana L, currently pursuing Bachelor of Commerce in CMR University, Bangalore. I have had an amazing journey with Reaching Hand from the 7th to the 14th of July,2023. I was enrolled in the community internship program where I got a Hands-on experience in helping underprivileged children and people in our society.
I was unaware of how NGO’s deal with different issues and but now I know that NGOs are necessary and are the backbone to solve society’s issues at the ground level.
I had the great privilege of creating posters for social media. One of the posters that I made was for Skill development Day. I also was happy to do Volunteer work with the Reaching Hand Team accompanying them at government schools.
Reaching hand as a nonprofit organization has successful projects like Girls Glory for young government school children where they conduct WaSh Workshops, Namma shale program where they work with government schools to help them transition to the present world such as to help them set up STEM Labs, Digital Libraries, Digital Interactive Panel, Computer Labs. They also help government schools with minor infrastructure such as classroom painting, provide benches, etc., Reaching Hand even has a foster care home for underprivileged children especially girls.
After helping the assisting the team in social work I feel accomplished and happy that my internship program was fruitful. A big thank you to Reaching Hand for working with projects that support the well-being of our society. To end I would like to Quote – “The quality of your life will be determined by the quality of your contribution. When you work to improve the lives of others, your life improves automatically.” – Kurek Ashley
